Built by industry professionals

Healthcare Improvement consultancy limited is a company set up by our founder and managing director, James Mullins. The company commenced trading in July 2020.

James is a registered adult & mental health nurse who has a wealth of experience and knowledge.  He began his career at the age of 16 as a healthcare support worker before embarking on his registered nursing training.  Throughout his career, James has worked in a variety of settings across the NHS and independent sector including neurosurgery, elderly care, substance misuse, prison health, forensic care and female personality disorders.

James has also held several senior level roles including Head of Inspections with the Care Quality Commission and in the NHS as Director of Mental Health Improvement and Director of Quality Assurance.  James is passionate about ensuring that the holistic and quality care of those who use services is foremost in the development of service provision and strategic methodology. Throughout his career, James has continuously demonstrated the ability to improve outcomes for patients in his care and since being in leadership roles, has driven change to enable continuous quality outcomes.

Our quality assurance platform has been  designed to make the process of capturing, processing, and reporting on healthcare  services simpler by using a ward to board process that gives executive teams clear line of sight to the quality and safety of front line services.

Our platform is hosted in the UK and all data is fully encrypted using AES256. 

Our platform is fully web based and doesn’t require anything other than a modern browser.

Gathering and reporting on data is as simple as possible with our automated notifications and reports.

The quality assurance platform is intended to dovetail with existing QA processes
used by your organisation so as to provide that extra layer of assurance and rigour. 

The platform also includes a section where any quality improvement initiatives can be included as part of the organisations wider QA process

We interpret and report by using a granular version of the CQC key lines of enquiry and the core services and specialist services that an inspection regime inspects and reports on.

Departments and key staff are automatically notified when submissions are due.

Evidence gathering is a key component and our helpful hints and tips will guide staff through the platform and give examples of the type of evidence that will they need to provide the assurance required.  Self assessed ratings are included to provide some authenticity and to mirror regulatory function.
